  • We can provide a starter hamper for a small supplement – email us for a quote.
  • We arrange golf packages and offer special rates on green fees to our self catering guests. It may be possible to play with local ex-pats on one of the many excellent golf courses surrounding Lisbon and Cascais. Just email us asking for our offers.
  • In addition, whilst the golfers are playing a round of golf, we could arrange to take non-golfers on a day excursion . See our tours section (walking tour of Lisbon, Obidos, Sintra or many more options)
  • Our accommodation prices include bed linen, bathroom towels & the final clean. We can provide additional cleaning on a daily basis at a charge of €.7.00 per hour (two hour minimum)
  • Save space in your suitcases for all the shopping you want to take home. Beach towels and beach umbrellas are available to rent at €7.50 per item per week.

Fonte37 apartment is set in the unique key location of Penha Longa. This idyllic location is only 10 minutes drive from the heart of Sintra, Estoril and Cascais and 30 minutes from Lisbon airport. Penha Longa Resort traces its origins back to the 14th century, includes a landmark monastery that was built on its ground and has been a frequent retreat of Portuguese royal and foreign dignitaries. A graceful palazzo-style estate set amongst the spectacular rolling hills, lush gardens, and clear lakes of the southern Sintra mountains. Lying within 240-hectare grounds that lie directly beside the affiliated golf courses and offer wonderful panoramic views out over the surrounding area, this complex offers a harmonious combination of nature, culture, and sports.

Coast / Beach

There are several beaches within easy reach, from the Guincho beach, famous for its wind surfing, to the Praia Grande beach also famous for surfing and Cascais.

In Cascais - Cascais Marina is great for good food and atmosphere. Sit among the boats and enjoy the sunset from the top deck. Also try the restaurants along the Guincho Road. Ones that stand out are Furnas do Guincho and Monte Mar (be prepared to pay a small price premium for great service and fantastic views and atmosphere).

The Artisan Fair in Estoril (behind Casino) each July and August offers handicraft and a variety of restaurants serving traditional food. Bicycles can be hired locally (no charge) in Cascais and there is a bicycle path which stretches for miles along the beautiful coastline to Guincho Beach. There is also a regular bus service to Guincho Beach, #405. The #403 will get you to Cascais. Another useful route is the #406 from Cascais to Cascais Shopping ( a mall type shopping centre on the outskirts of Cascais Estoril) It stops in Estoril by the beach before returning to Cascais terminus.

Golf

Ranked in the top 30 Courses in Continental Europe, The Atlantic Course designed by the famed Robert Trent Jones jr, is escapist golf at its best. With its bold drives, courageous approaches and artful greens, it is both an adrenalin rush and a soothing journey through one of Portugal's most inspiring landscapes. The opening holes and the final flourish share a wooded vale in the shadow of the rocky mountains, while others arc and plunge over scented hillsides. Exciting at every turn, this championship test and host to the Portuguese Open, is a master of variety and thrills. Its sister, the nine-hole Monastery course, is a perfect partner - equally pretty but a fraction less demanding. Atlantic Golf Course The Atlantic Course is an 18-hole, par 72, championship course of 6,290 meters, offering a challenging course with breathtaking views over the ocean with Estoril and Cascais to the South and the Sintra hills to the North. Penha Longa’s Atlantic golf course has played host to numerous competitions including the Portuguese Open. The prestigious IAGTO meeting was held at Penha Longa in December 2004. Handicap limit: Men - 28; Ladies - 36 Monastery Golf Course The Monastery Course is a nine-hole, par 35 course of 2,588 meters. This course spreads around the historical heart of the resort and is the perfect complement to The Atlantic Course, ideal for a round of golf in the late afternoon.
