The house has been totally renovated but maintaining all the charm you would expect from a property of its age. On the ground floor is a lovely living-dining room and a totally equipped new kitchen and a bathroom with shower. Outside is a sunny patio great for BBQ's or alfresco dining. Two bedrooms and a complete bathroom on the first floor. Catch the sun or relax with a book and a cold drink on the daybeds of this spacious veranda. Your daily bread & fresh fish can be bought from old fashioned vendors who sell their wares on the local square.

With a typical portuguese café on the doorstep, you can enjoy a good expresso (called a 'bica') with some typical portuguese pastries - a great stop for breakfast. For those wanting to experience the Portuguese cuisine, try the small typical restaurant with excellent food. Close to hand you have a small supermarket, pharmacy, hairdresser, a magazine shop, and a butcher.

  • We arrange golf packages and offer special rates on green fees to our self catering guests. It may be possible to play with local ex-pats on one of the many excellent golf courses surrounding Lisbon and Cascais. Just email us asking for our offers.
  • In addition, whilst the golfers are playing a round of golf, we could arrange to take non-golfers on a day excursion . See our tours section (walking tour of Lisbon, Obidos, Sintra or many more options)
  • Our accommodation prices include bed linen, bathroom towels & the final clean. We can provide additional cleaning on a daily basis at a charge of €.7.00 per hour (two hour minimum)
  • Save space in your suitcases for all the shopping you want to take home. Beach towels and beach umbrellas are available to rent at €7.50 per item per week.

  • Rental of travel cot and or baby high chair per week: €15 each.
  • Supplement for cot linen: baby pillow with pillow case, mattress protector, top and bottom sheets, blanket or duvet with cover.
  • We can accept payments by cheque in Euros or bank transfer in GBP or Euros. We can also accept deposit payments via PayPal (credit cards accepted through PayPal) in US Dollars.

Property Management

  • Sintra, a world heritage site is just 20 minutes from Cascais.
  • Évora, a world heritage site is around 2 hours and Obidos is about 1 hour.
  • Fátima is about 1 hour.
  • Algarve coast is around 2.5 hours
  • Seville is around 4 hours

Externally

Just off the little square, buses go down to Cascais and Guincho beach regularly each day.

Free rental bicycles can be hired for the day from the Cascais Municipality (just take Photo ID). Take the purpose built bike path which runs between Guincho and Cascais along the beautiful wild coast line past the Marina. Guincho is the close-by world famous Windsurf/kitesurf beach.

The golf club of Quinta da Marinha, stables where you can rent horses and tennis courts are all within a radius of 2km. In the middle of the sand dunes near Guincho is a restaurant 'Rola na Areia' overlooking the sand dunes right down to the sea.

Coast / Beach

The nearest beach in the Bay of Cascais is 1500m from the property; from here other beaches on the Cascais / Estoril coast are within 10 to 15 minutes along the promenade. A few minutes drive away is the magnificent, spectacular Guincho coastline, with sandy beaches and rocky coves. Alternatively towards Lisbon is the popular surfing beach of Carcavelos.

Golf

There are 8 excellent golf courses within a 20 min drive from Cascais.

The golf courses of Oitavos, Quinta da Marinha, Quinta da Beloura, Estoril (27 holes) are nearby all within 10 to 15 minutes drive.

Penha Longa (27 holes), Belas, the Lisbon Sports Club are within a 20 to 30 min drive.

Around an hour’s drive are Praia D’El Rey, Ribagolfe I & II, St Estavao, Qtª do Peru, Aroeira I & II, Montado and Troia golf courses.

The Quinta da Marinha Oitavos course, the newest in the region, designed by the famous American architect Arthur Hills, is the first course in Europe and the second in the world to have the Audubon International ‘Certified Signature Sanctuary/Gold’. With excellent views over the Palácio da Pena and Cabo da Roca.

The Atlântico da Penha Longa course has already been the scene of several European Tour competitions. This hilly course offers broad magnificent views over the countryside that surrounds you with the mountains and the sea.

Travel

From Lisbon airport, Cascais is just 27 km (just under 30 mins).

Cheap flights to Lisbon airport available from Monarch, Easyjet, TAP, and British Airways. Or drive up from Faro it's just 2 and a quarter hours.

Bus transfer to Cais do Sodre station in Lisbon then on the train to Cascais.

A car is recommended, as the train station is a 30-35 minute walk. Although there is a bus right outside the property which will take you to the centre of Cascaisl. From there, the train takes you into Lisbon (32 mins) via Estoril, in clean, modern air-conditioned trains - which are not expensive & always on time!
