“This flat is amazing - modern and well equipped - and so BIG! We were 6 of us and could easily have had another two with us. But the best about this flat must be it’s location: it’s literally five minutes from the three main central Cascais beaches as well as train station and shopping mall. We thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Cascais with our family of 2 adults and 3 children. The apartment is very conveniently located, the closest beach is at most 3 minutes walk away and the same distance to the train station. The apartment was very clean, very spacious - much larger than it looks in the photos on-line. In fact the whole apartment is even nicer than it appears on line. The only negative is that the balcony is a bit disappointing as is enclosed in glass and we did not use it. However that is a minor complaint. Our check in with Cassie was excellent, she was very flexible with our early arrival and also allowed us a late departure which was great. Cassie took a lot of time and trouble to explain the local facilities and apartment amenities to us. We would be very happy to return to Cascais and this apartment.

“The Valbom apartment was perfect for our holiday. It is well appointed and up to date and was very comfortable and spacious for 2 couples. It is in the back of the building, so it is very quiet, even in the center of town. The train station, loads of restaurants, bakeries, bus station and grocery store were all within a short walk. When we arrived at the Valbom apartment, the taxi driver said: "You couldn't get much more central in Cascais" and he was correct. Shops, restaurants, the train station and the sea front are all very close by. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and much larger than it appears on the website. Would recommend.

We are a family of four (parents and two 20-something children) and spent a wonderful two weeks in this apartment as it provided all we needed, space (and private space), cooking facilities as we all enjoy cooking and spacious bathrooms.
But it is not just the apartment’s facilities, it is its location right in the centre of Cascais. A couple of minutes walk to buy fresh bread every morning at one of two bakeries. Some of the best restaurants just round the corner and the railway station at the end of the street. Two supermarkets just past the station and a twice weekly fruit and vegetable market just beyond the bus station...all this meant time and effort was saved, just as you would wish on a holiday.
Rainha beach was less than five minutes stroll, so close it was possible to simply walk back to the apartment for anything forgotten. The beach proved to be an excellent location, empty for hours before it would start to fill from 11 a.m. onwards. A good knowledge of the tides is required however as the tiny beach is reduced even further by the incoming tide but producing endless fun watching those who get it wrong.
Cascais provides a wide range of things to do, something to suit all tastes. We did not get to visit half the museums and galleries in our two weeks. During that time we were able to also experience the huge Festival of Light, a major international sailing event, surfing world championships and a beer festival. Never mind the walks, the views and the leisurely cups of coffee watching the world go by.
As well as the station giving access to Lisbon, just over 30 minutes on the faster trains, the bus station, under the new shopping centre provides cheap and simple links to Guincho and Sintra. The free bicycle hire up at the station provided serviceable machines that got us to Guincho and Estoril and elsewhere. Yet another great idea.
Finally a quick word of praise for Portugal Portfolio who managed the property and proved to be extremely efficient and helpful actually adding to the holiday experience. The rep, Cassie, was both a useful source of local information and an ever present back up if we ever needed.

We've done a bike ride to Guincho, a bus trip to Sintra and Cabo da Roca, and two trips to Lisbon.
We are glad we stayed in Cascais as it is an excellent base and there are many good restaurants.
We had a great time and enjoyed lovely food including the Hot Dog, Santini ice cream and pasteis de nata in Belem!
The apartment was immaculate and very well equipped - whole family including teenage children loved it. The location cannot be better.
The taxi service was very professional and comfortable.

Location, location, location! The spacious apartment is in a great location in the wonderful town of Cascais. Train station, bus station, restaurants, beaches, and a grocery store that has everything you could possibly need, are all within an easy five minute walk. The apartment itself is well appointed and has plenty of room. Cassie at Portugal Portfolio was lovely and so easy to work with. If we travel again to Cascais, we would definitely choose to stay at the Valbom!

Everything was easy from the initial booking, to being collected from the airport and actually staying in the apartment! The team at Portugal Portfolio were very helpful and attended to everything that we needed.

The apartment is very centrally located near to all the restaurants, train station and shops which we loved (not having a car). Despite being on quite a busy street the flat was very quiet and overlooked a few houses and other buildings. The apartment was huge, spacious, modern and clean. We loved that the kitchen had a great dishwasher, washing machine and that there were the facilities and equipment to cook if we wanted too.
... Highly recommend the flat and would definitely return to it.

We had an amazing time staying in Cascais at the Valbom apartment. Really clean, safe and excellently furnished. The apartment is really spacious and is much bigger than it looks on the pictures! There were 5 of us sharing the apartment and we had plenty of room. Probably the best part about the apartment is its location- everything is literally on the doorstep. The beach, train station, restaurants and shops are all less than 2 mins walk away- and the owners left a booklet in the living room with all the information we needed for the area which was really helpful. Booking process and communication was really efficient. All of us recommend staying here, 10/10 :)
