You will find a typical supermarket and bakery with coffee shop across the road (VIP Supermarket which contains many international brands and O Sacolinha a small bakery/coffee shop), which assures you your hot rustic bread each morning. Try a typical Portuguese breakfast, ask for “um galão com pão torrado” (tall milky coffee served in a glass with toasted Portuguese bread).

Our accommodation prices inlcude one set of bed linen & bathroom towels. A compulsory end of stay cleaning fee applies. In some areas we can provide additional cleaning on a daily basis at a chrge per hour (team of two). *
Save space in your suitcases for all the shopping you want to take home. Beach towels and beach umbrellas are available to rent at €7.50 per item per week. You can add these and baby equipment at the time of your online booking. *

Ocean Five is a great holiday rental situated on the ocean front with views over the Atlantic. Located in Cascais, only a 15 - 20 minute walk to the marina and old town & offering proximity to boutiques, shops, cafés and restaurants & transport. Many of the areas most famous sights are within easy access.
You will find a typical supermarket and bakery with coffee shop across the road (VIP Supermarket which contains many international brands and O Sacolinha a small bakery/coffee shop), which assures you your hot rustic bread each morning.

The area around the house is well served by public transport. There is a bus service (called BusCas); this runs regularly throughout the day, to the centre of Cascais and around the Cascais area with it's main stop at the Cascais train station. From here you can get a train to Lisbon in 30 minutes along the beautiful coast line, or a bus to the World Heritage Site of Sintra. If you wish to visit places further afield, please ask us about our day excursions.
There is another bus service which stops just across the road from the house called Giro which will take you to Cascaishopping where there are shops, a food court, hairdressers, technical help center etc.
From Cascais there is a regular bus service to Guincho Beach, #405. The #403 will get you to Sintra.
The train service runs from 5am until 1:30am and the trains run every 20minutes approx.
For a much more Portuguese feeling, within a short walk is Casa da Guia with all of its speciality shops, boutiques, restaurants & cafés offering afternoon refreshments overlooking the sea with wonderful views up to the Cascais marina.
Otherwise try the out of town centre, Cascais Shopping (a mall on the outskirts of Cascais Estoril) with a great variety of shops from clothing, shoes, sports, books, electronics, luggage, travel etc). The #406 goes from Cascais to Cascais Shopping. It stops in Estoril by the beach before returning to Cascais terminus.
Head into the centre of Cascais to get the train to Lisbon and visit the sites in the capital city.
Visit the near by Casa da Guia for fabulous restaurants!
|“The apartment sits at the edge of Cascais, so is handy for town but situated at the front in a quieter mostly residential area. A few hundred yards away is a small development with a few bars, cafes and restaurants which is very handy. There is a promenade running from the apartment, along the front past the marina into town - it’s a good twenty minute walk, but there is a cafe/bar about halfway. We were surprised there wasn’t more restaurants or bars on the way into town - so if you don’t fancy the walk Ubers are very cheap €2-3 for 2 people into town (due to COVID it’s a bit dearer for 3 as need larger car) We had a car and there is secure on-site parking, however Ubers are reasonable and abundant. There is bike hire just along the road- cycling, walking and jogging are very popular in the area, making full use of the promenade and cycle path which stretches into town one way and along a couple of miles to a popular surf beach in the other direction. The apartment is spacious, light and bright with well equipped kitchen. There is Ample room in lounge for children to sleep on the chez style setee/loungers. The kitchen is well equipped with an induction hob, microwave, dishwasher and a washing machine. When we stated there were nice touches including basic ingredients in the store cupboard and a selection of books in a swap library. Worth noting the apartment is to the side of the building - this wasn’t clear to us from listing - so the bedroom gets a view of next door, however, there is a good view from the balcony which has plenty room for the table and 4 chairs and offers a great spot for breakfast and dinner. The complex is large and very spacious- there are two huge atrium areas, a restaurant, hairdresser, nail spa, ladies fashion shop and has 24 hour on site management/security who were all very friendly. Cascais itself feels safe and we always felt safe in the apartment. The pool is lovely - part infinity style, large and with deep & shallow areas. Loungers and parasols are provided and there is an adjacent shower and toilet area within the main building as well as an outside shower. Plenty space and was never crowded during our stay. Building has a high level of residents and they tend to hit the pool in the evening before dinner, but otherwise the pool area is fairly quiet. There is a small but well stocked supermarket opposite the apartment, ideal for essentials. Cascais itself has a large number of bars, restaurants and cafes, so there are plenty places to eat and drink. The food was okay, mostly fairly simple fare (burgers, pizza etc) and seafood. Prices for food are slightly lower than back home, alcohol significantly cheaper even before happy hour deals! Note there are cliffs along the front opposite the apartment which prevent access to the waterside until you reach Cascais marina or the surf beach in the other direction.”|

The Portugal Portfolio’s Ocean Five apartment was the perfect base for our nine days in Cascais – a well-equipped and comfortable home-from-home that’s ideally located to explore this charming town and outlying attractions. Morning pastries and expressos await across the road, buses leave from around the corner, and the nearby Casa da Guia is a memorable setting for sundowners. Oh, and Cassie and the team were only a text or call away to offer holiday tips and unravel the mystery of induction hobs. Our one problem? Getting the kids out of the pool!

We spent great holidays in your apartment.There are lot of useful things in the apartment like washing machine, iron and hairdryer. The swimming pool is very nice and big enough for the people. Sunbeds were always available. You can go without a car (renting is very expensive), some shops and bakery are very close and taxis are cheap especially if you are a family ( we were 4). For instance going to Sintra and coming back didn't cost more than 35 euros for 4 with all the comfort!

From start to finish we were really impressed, firstly for great taxi service to and from the airport in an immaculate, comfortable car driven by immaculate drivers. Very professional!
The quality of the apartment was extremely good with excellent facilities, all modern and spotlessly clean. It was very spacious, with beautiful decor not to mention the breath taking view of the sea and manicured gardens. It had everything we could possibly need for our holiday and more and is even bigger and better than the impression the photographs give on the website so it really exceeded our expectations. The location of the apartment was superb and we were spoilt with endless bars, excellent restaurants and shops all within walking distance.
The huge pool was also amazing. Like the apartment, it was spotlessly clean and very well looked after, the surrounding gardens are beautiful and it wasn't overly busy either which made it a very relaxing place to spend our day.
Our only criticisms would be the level of noise from the builders which I know you are aware of and also the noise from the road by the pool which is a very slight downside to the location as that was quite busy. However at the end of the day we loved this holiday so much that we really want to come back to the very same apartment next year so I think that says just how good we thought it was.
We want to give a huge thank you to all of the staff who were extremely helpful, friendly, very reliable, professional and to add, spoke brilliant English!
